Background

• Career Goals •
I moved out to Southern California in 2011 for a new adventure! I look forward to continuing to apply my experience and MBA to marketing and management. I enjoy working with smaller firms to create big results.

• Experience •
I currently work at an online marketing firm in Irvine, CA as an Engagement Manager, which means I handle marketing strategy, planning and ongoing analysis for our clients' online marketing programs.

Since 2003, I have worked at small marketing and advertising firms, with some freelancing and staffing thrown in the mix. Most of my work was in account management meaning I handled anything and everything about the account, the agency and new business development.  I've helped manage productivity and forecasting, strategic plans for integrated marketing programs and worked closely with some experts in public relations, media planning and placement, production, interactive marketing and events/promotions who have taught me a lot about those areas as well.

I am a fast learner and can pick up most any new system or process very quickly.  I ask questions and listen up front so as to give solid input when appropriate.  In January, 2010 I went back to school to get an MBA with a Marketing focus.

A former supervisor told me I have the "curse of competency," meaning he could hand over any project to me and know it would be completed efficiently, in a timely manner and stay at or even below budget.

I don't expect you to take my word for it that I know what I'm doing.  But the people who have worked with me in various aspects know.  So I'll let you hear from them:

A note from LinkedIn from a colleague at the last marketing firm/advertising agency I worked with -

Ellen is one of the most proactive, focused and intelligent people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Her creative thinking, organization and dedication to the clients went far and beyond her duties. Ellen is such a valuable and insightful person- any forward thinking company would be lucky to have her as a team member. Ellen is well rounded in all aspects of marketing and her skill set rivals anyone with a long standing career. This is one colleague I would recommend above all others I have come across in my 25 yr. career in Advertising and Marketing.

- Lisa Liu, Marketing Coordinator at Georgia State Parks

A recommendation from a colleague who I have worked with for two years at the American Marketing Association -

Ellen has been a terrific help to our American Marketing Association organization. Since we are all volunteers, we like to know that the time donated is being used effectively: when I have Ellen on a project, I have no such concerns. With a general push in the right direction, Ellen is a self-motivated worker who helps to keep her AMA initiatives moving.

I am always assured that the goals of our projects are always being kept in mind and that Ellen is constantly trying to surpass those goals to ensure the success of future projects. Ellen has been a great team member and resource for our group and I know that she will be an outstanding asset to future companies and organizations.

- Greg Cohen, Committee Chair of AMA Atlanta Collegiate

A recommendation I received from a Creative Director I worked with for five years when I was applying to grad school -

This is a recommendation from an employee I supervised as both an intern and an Account Coordinator at a small advertising agency -

Ellen was a wonderful supervisor at The Banks Agency. She was extremely dedicated to the overall success of the company, and ran the internal operations perfectly. She was very professional, detail oriented, and formed great relationships with clients and vendors. I would love to work with Ellen again in the future; she is very bright, motivated, and a joy to be around. I recommend Ellen for any service position in marketing or advertising, and especially as a supervisor

- Perry Barnes

Another recommendation, this one a nomination letter from a former boss for the Atlanta Ad Club Young Professionals Award -

Once I graduated college, I began working as a Marketing Assistant and received this recommendation-

Ellen was a wonderful person to work with. She was extremely motivated and always dependable. She has a great attention to detail and ensures that a customer’s needs are always met. I would recommend her for any position without hesitation.
