There is something really wonderful about going to a comedy club. Because for about an hour and a half, you don't have to think about anything. You just sit and listen to someone (or a few someones) go on and on about whatever they happen to go on and on about.
This weekend I went to The Punchline (if you've never been, check it out because it's a fun night -- www.punchline.com) with some of my family. It's kind of a tradition whenever one of our cousins turns 21 (if they live here in Atlanta), we go out for a couple drinks and lots of laughs. My date was my stepbrother (no, it's not some weird redneck thing, it's just because for right now Jeff has almost every Friday and Saturday taken with serving).
The headliner was really funny. Her name is Kathleen Madigan and if you ever have a chance to see her do stand up, take it (http://www.kathleenmadigan.com/). I enjoyed the Irish Catholic jokes since it's something I can definitely relate to.
But really, how often do we really get to forget about everything and just sit and laugh? I think we should take every chance we can to relax, hang out with family and friends and just smile.
